Journey: 1980-10-13 Tokyo, Japan (Pro Shot DVD_Bootradr & Ljerk 2012 Project)

Journey - Live at Nakano Sunplaza (Tokyo - October 13th 1980 - Upgraded Audio & Video Enhancement - by Bootradr & Ljerk BL001v1 - 2012)

NOTE: I'll be updating the technical editing (primarily video) information for this project over the weekend

This concert is the same show also mistakenly shared as "Journey - Live at Exhibition Hall (Osaka)" and with a number of other titles containing the incorrect date of October 10th, 1980.

This project contains an enhanced and filtered video stream (specifications will be updated in this post later) synchronized with a new (much better and lower generation) stereo audio stream.  A second audio stream, which is the synchronized new audio source, and a third audio stream, which is the the video's default mono audio stream but balanced, are included too. Most versions of this show that have surfaced, with the wrong city, venue, and date, have mono audio.  The stereo audio for this show is very rare and not as easy to find.  Thanks goes to "MysticHealer" from the United Kingdom for getting me this lossless audio source two years ago!

There are very few gaps in the upgraded, stereo audio stream.  And almost all of the gaps/cuts in that new audio stream are between songs and do not affect the music.  These gaps are filled in with the video's original mono audio stream.  It flows perfectly and flawlessly.

Dime Torrent - DOWNLOAD HERE (version w/o multiple audio streams & video enhancement)
NOTE: I created a DVD-9 torrent and posted it on Dime.  The torrent doesn't have all of the video enhancements that this DVD-5 version does, however; it is great too.  If your a Dime member, you'll know what to do.  If not, sign up for a free account and READ THE RULES.  Go to http://www.dimeadozen.org for their home page.  And remember to keep your sharing ratio at 0.25% or higher so as to not get banned.  It's a much faster download almost always!

Bootradr Comments:

This is a project I've been working on myself over the past two years (since I got the excellent stereo audio source) but have run into too many problems (primarily due to software I have used) along the way.  Until I met Ljerk earlier this year, I'd put this project on the back burner because it wasn't working out right on my end.  I am very happy with the work and help Ljerk has provided!  Without his help, this project would still be just that (a project).

There is a better video source of this show out there and I'm still working on one day getting it.  I've only got a lossy 640 x 480 avi version of that source unfortunately and have lost contact with the person who has the VHS tape of it.  But it does exist I know!  And hopefully, in the not too distant future, it will be available again.  If and when this happens, I'm sure Ljerk and me will make it into the "Definitive Tokyo 1980" Dime torrent :-)

The new, stereo audio source used in this DVD project far surpasses any audio from this show I have ever heard!  You will definitely enjoy it!

I hope you enjoy the show...

Ljerk Comments:

My hobby is video editing. I upload many edited rock concerts to YouTube with the label "DHV".

This DVD5 version is edited with many filters.  This upload is not to the DIME forum's standards due to cropping, colour changes, resizing, noise reduction, video EQ work, and the re-encoding done on this specific project.  The DIME DVD-9 version will also be uploaded here soon so you can download it and compare which version you like best.

I uploaded the balanced HD version to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bdjQ3coxrk for those who want to check it out and that version will also be uploaded here soon too.  This DVD-5 UDF (HD 720p - 4.01 GB mp4 file) version can also be found on Bootradr's website soon.

Artwork will be added as it is created.  If anyone wants to create any high quality artwork and share it, please feel free to do so!  Proper credit will be given :-)  Keep in mind that there is a cover needed for the DVD-5 version and a separate one for the DVD-9 version too.

We hope you enjoy the show...
