Led Zeppelin: 1973-05-13 Mobile, AL (FLAC_SB Master & 1st Gen Mix_2 CD)

I've had the Midas Touch silver CD's, "Goin' Mobile", for many years.  And up until the mid part of last year I really wasn't paying a lot of attention to the various other labeled versions and remasters I'd been collecting until I ran across this one.  It is by far the best sounding version of this awesome show.

This is actually a 5 CD set but I'm only uploading the remastered version (discs 2 & 3) and not the raw soundboard or master soundboard discs.  As far as the master soundboard disc goes, only disc 1 is available anyhow.  Also, this is a speed corrected version of the show too.  From memory, the original versions ran a little slow (not very bad) and needed the correction when remastered.

This show is really great.  The sound, better than ever, is just one of the highlights in the the performance.  The band is really on top of things with all members sounding great.  One of my favorite parts in the show, and one I first heard back in the 1990's on my Midas Touch silvers, is Jimmy Page's guitar playing leading up to the violin bow solo section.  Page plays some new things (as he always does) and has a guitar part that blows me away.  It was only done in this one show as far as I've ever heard.  I'm just glad we have a soundboard recording to hear it almost 41 years later.

This is one of the high energy Led Zeppelin shows and one that kills me (as with many of the 1973 soundboards) as it cuts off after Moby Dick.  There is a third "CD" but it has never surfaced.  Most of the soundboards from the 1973 USA tour are this way.  I don't know if the boot labels are holding back for future releases when they run out of material or if the last parts of many of the shows are not in the hands of anyone yet?  Either way, they exist!  I just hope one day we get to see them surface and can listen to the rest of the shows that get cut short like this one.

I should have uploaded this show a long time ago because it is that good.  But since I'm doing it now, I hope those who download it and enjoy it for the first time (or the 200th time) realize how far this show has come in upgrades through the years.  And I hope everyone enjoys it...
